  Notes	John McCoy Allender is on the censuses for 1790, 1800, 1810, and 1820 in the household of his parents. He is shown as head of household in Williamsburg, Huntington County, Pennsylvania in 1830 (alone with his wife), 1840 and in 1850. He is 43 years of age and fits the age category 40-50 on the 1840 census. With him on the 1840 Census are his wife (age 30-40), 2 males under 5 (his two younger sons, Richard, age 4, and James, age 2) 1 male age 5-10 (his older son, Hugh, age 6) and 1 female age 5-10 (Sarah Jane, age 8.) An unidentified male, age 20-30, is also in the household, who could be his brother William, but he is closer to age 34 at this time. On the 1850 Census, John is 53 years of age, his wife, Ellen, is age 40, Sarah is 18, Hugh is 16, Richard is 14, and James is 12. Both he and Hugh have the occupation waggonmaker. He is listed as witness to the will, dated 26 Jul 1834, of Hugh Carothers of Morris Twnship. This will identifies his wife, Ellenor, as a niece of Hugh Carothers. She must then be the daughter Hugh's sister, Catharine Dunn. The Hugh Dunn, who is also a witness to the will, must be Ellen's brother. The will summarized: Hugh Carothers, late of Morris Township; will dated 26 July 1834; probated 12 August 1834. Niece: Ellenor Allender and her son, Hugh Carothers Allender; brothers and sisters: John, Alexander, Catharine Dunn, Jane Hobble, Elizabeth Grossman. Executors: brother John Carothers and John Stewart, both of Morris Township Witnesses: John Allender, Hugh Dunn, William Hammon.
