MY GREAT GREAT GRANDFATHER WAS WILLIAM WALLACE ALLENDER MARRIED TO PHOBE MARTINA

My Grandfather name was william Allender. And I was told he was from Marietta, Ohio. also I know he had a brother John Wesley Allender. My Father name was Arles Allander, he added the a to his name. I go by Dottie.

I have only recently started my heritage search, and could only trace my Allender roots to Thomas Allender b.1784. When I found this site I was so excited to find it tracing back to William b. 1640! I am descended from the Fairfield, Iowa branch - Great grandfather was Emory Morris Allender. I did not change my name when I married, as my father Leo only had daughters and I wanted to keep the name alive for a little longer at least. How great to find so many Allenders! Would be happy to share any info I have on the more recent Allenders from this branch.

I want to thank you for making a wonderful website devoted to us Allenders. I have always been fascinated by the Allender history. When I was young, my father and I would go up to lehigh and meet up with my grandmother and grandfather at the Allender family reunions. My father has some sort of Allender book that I will try to get a hold of that may better help this site. I dont know much about our ancestry, but I do remember someone mentioning a long time a go that we may have been called the "earlanders"? and that we came from the Island of Earl? I dont know if that is true or not, as I have searched for such an island and came up with nothing. Interesting.

I am the grandson of Howard Allender, the last male Allender of the Maryland lineage.
